The Balsa is a class II-III river which begins with the bigger rapids and ends in a section that are drops and flats where we can see wildlife.

 Arenal Volcano Walk and Natural History Tour

Take a lovely walk through Arenal Volcano National Park up to the 1992 lava flow rocks.  Witness a breathtaking view of Lake Arenal with the mountains of the Cordillera Tilaran in the background.  Our professional guides will take you through the history of the Arenal volcano, the Arenal area and Costa Rica.  Also, we will teach you about the different plants, trees and animals that we see along the way.  As a bonus, we will stop to relax in the Tabacon River – famous for its therapeutic natural hot springs waters.

 

 Cerro Chato Volcano Hike and Lagoon Swim

Experience the unique sensation of hiking up the over 35,000-year-old Cerro Chato dormant volcano and into its 500m wide crater where there is a lagoon!  Take a swim in its emerald green waters surrounded by virgin tropical rain forest and the view of Arenal Volcano in the background.   Extend this half day activity into a full day trip by choosing the longer hike route around the volcano and stopping at the Tabacon River for a dip in its relaxing natural hot spring waters.  All of our tours are private or small for top quality & low environmental impact.
